Blitz Sonic was written in Blitz3D, a game making engine that uses Simple BASIC as its language. Blitz3D is now free to download, however there's a bit more you'll need to know before you can get started! First, you'll need a version of Blitz3D between version 1.99 and 1.106 to run and compile the source code! This is because later versions (v1.108) will not work with the required library files! Once you get the correct version installed, you'll need to copy the library files in the _Dependencies folder into the userlibs folder where you installed Blitz3D. Example: C:\Program Files (x86)\Blitz3D\userlibs Finally, and this is optional, you can install IDEal 0.8.94, which is an advanced environment for developing Blitz3D code. It can help you to keep a big project organized! IDEal 0.8.94After you've done all of this, you *should* be able to run the main "Sonic the Hedgehog.bb" file! If you have any trouble running the source, please post your question below!
